The ceremony of presenting “The Order of the Rising Sun, Golden Rays with Rosette” was held at the residence of Consulate General of Japan by Mr. KUNO Kazuhiro.
Korsunov Viktor Ivanovich – Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, one of the leading faculty members of Sakhalin State University. He devoted many years to the development of Sakhalin State University, cooperation with foreign educational institutions, formation and promotion of joint educational programs.
“For me, this award is a great honor, it is an assessment of my and my colleagues work throughout many years, after all I was not the only one who did all the work. I want to thank the Consulate General of Japan in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and the Government of Japan, who attached importance to my significant contributions in the development of relations between our countries. Thank you a lot!” – said Viktor Ivanovich.
The order on behalf of the Emperor of Japan is awarded to foreign citizens for outstanding services in the development of friendship with Japan and in other areas. Viktor Korsunov became the ninth recipient of the Order of Japan on Sakhalin Island. Earlier, the honorary award was received by the ex-rector of Sakhalin State University Boris Misikov.
